The Old Stores
Treknow, Nr Tintagel
Proprietors – Mr and Mrs Hallett
The Old Stores is situated centrally in the small village of Treknow. As its name suggests, it was until recently, the local ‘corner shop’. Treknow provides easy access to the beach at Trebarwith Strand, half a mile away, and the stunning cliffs and coastal path just up the lane.
The accommodation is spacious and unusual. Downstairs is a large family sitting room (formerly the shop) with comfortable seating, TV, DVD player and video. Off this room is a small utility room/kitchenette with fridge freezer and washing machine. Outside the kitchenette is a small area to hang wet suits, etc. Also off the sitting room is an en-suite bedroom with double futon, shower and WC. On the first floor is a cosy lounge/kitchen/diner again with TV and DVD player. There is a wood burner in this room. There are two bedrooms on the first floor, one with a double bed, the other with twin single beds. Also a bathroom (shower over bath) and separate WC.
The accommodation will sleep six people comfortably or eight at a push using a single futon and single day bed in the family sitting room downstairs. There is scope to accommodate two families more or less separately, one upstairs and one downstairs. Or – as more usually happens – parents use upstairs and children have fun ‘camping out’ together in the large downstairs area!
The whole property has a very light and clean appearance with views of the village all around. It is centrally heated making it cosy at any time of year.
Bed linen is provided (except cots).
Electric included in rental charge.
Pets are welcome but please note there is no garden with this property.
The owners provide two electric bikes which are available for your use – not suitable for under 14s.
There is no private parking space but you may park on the road outside or anywhere else in the village.
Also worthy of note, the Old Stores is located next door to another of our properties - Puffins. Together they can accommodate up to 15 people.
